Leaving this for others who might need JSON with sqlite.

You can use sqlitex and build it to enable JSON1. However, you'll have to write your own SQL

In your mix.exs
defp deps
...
{:sqlitex, "~> 1.7", system_env: [{"ESQLITE_CFLAGS","-DSQLITE_ENABLE_JSON1"}]},

Nice, I will take a look, I've already started to implement an ecto adapter and a server interface to allow ACTOR manipulation for a project where I need multiple db's open at once.

I have a project where I have thousands of smallish databases (~2GB a piece) that I am doing map reduce stuff with. I built that ecto3 and exqlite adapter to meet my needs.
