I’m not sure if this is the same issue, but since version 23.8.0 I’m unable to run pod install or launch the Android app.

What I tried

• Removed the node_modules folder
• Cleaned caches
• Cleaned CocoaPods (Pods, Podfile.lock, pod cache)
• Reinstalled dependencies

None of these steps resolved the issue.

@react-native-firebase/auth was not previously installed in my project.
I installed it after encountering the error, but the issue still occurs.

Seems like it, bare RN project, 23.8.0

I'll look into this - there have been a lot of changes under the covers as we are migrating internally to typescript

There were not many changes that people would notice between 23.7.0 and 23.8.0 so just staying on 23.7.0 for now should be fine, and I'll get a 23.9.0 out shortly with packaging fixes

Fix in progress for publishing regression, it will be cross-linked to this issue so this issue will auto-close when it's merged. I'll publish as soon as it looks good - so 23.9.0 will have the fix (when published), until then, remain on 23.7.0
