Bug: 'Show Activate Button' fails to render a button in the terminal menu

Had old issue here initially, but resolved - #820
over winter break the button simply disappeared. No clue where it went. None of my settings changed. I am following the pinned instructions referenced here, but nothing gives

edit: verified in vscodium with a blank profile

Are you talking about the environment extension icon? If so add "python.useEnvironmentsExtension": true,
If its the virtual environment activate button near terminal. Try enabling python-envs.terminal.showActivateButton

Hi, sorry for the delay. I am referring to the virtual environment activate button that comes in/came in the form of the Python logo with a circular background/hover, and was ultimately the same asset size as the "plus button" for creating a new terminal instance, and it sat besides this plus button. I could click the button and it would toggle the active terminal live in real time between my generic pyenv global setup and my venv. So i could click it over and over again and watch activate and exit commands occur ad infinitum, if I wanted to.
