`headers_send` sometimes hangs until execution timeout

What happened?

For some requests sending early hints via a listener runs into the execution timeout (35s for me).

Could this be caused by clients going away (no ACK, e.g. mobile clients losing connection, bad bots not following HTTP/3 correctly) or is this an application error?

This is sometimes happening on your production server running directly on the edge? Yeah it could be due to read timeouts from the client, hard to say with the error message alone. Do you also have access logs or something similar? Is it only happening for 1xx early hints?

You can also try limiting read/write timeouts for caddy directly if you want to be more resilient against slow clients.

Yes, FrankenPHP/Caddy are directly exposed to the web, so the entire client connection handling is done there.

I already have timeouts in place (sorry, forgot to mention that essential info; updated the post). The 35 seconds correlate to the max_execution_time.
